Welcome to Wildlife Queensland Bayside Branch

Bayside Branch hosts monthly meetings with expert guest presenters, conducts a variety of workshops throughout the year and arranges family outings such as spotlighting, bushwalks, birdwatching and an annual cruise in Moreton Bay. All these activities aim to be both fun and educational. Members also participate in bushcare groups.

Our monthly newsletter, wildlife diary and bi-monthly koala news keep members and friends up to date with our activities and provide informative articles on different aspects of wildlife and habitat. Bayside Branch promotes community-based fauna & flora surveys, including curlew and dugong surveys and the Seagrass Watch, which is a long-term monitoring program to map and monitor seagrass habitats. Seagrass Watch attracts a lot of interest from both the local community and government agencies and is proving very successful.

Habitat protection greatly concerns Bayside Branch, together with government policies and town planning, particularly in relation to ensuring that all development is environmentally sensitive. We are represented on committees and participate in community consultations with government and business groups.

General meetings are open to all and are held on the last Friday of the month, February to November.

Bayside has a website which you may visit, see what’s been happening and what events are coming up.
